My Lean to

Gherkins and brussel sprouts.

Mange tout, peas, beans, sorrel, - all sorts growing.

My home made mini greenhouse made from a fish box and a plastic container that they use for 'growing' snails in! It works though

My first lot of tomato plants, I have some more needing pricking out in my conservatory windowledge.

I don't have a green house so I make do with growing my plants in the lean to. I just have enough floor space left to fit my two feet in!

ah i miss growing my own baby plant starts...my father would share tomato seeds of the previous seasons best tomatoes with his sisters, and they would share with him...they grew the best tomatoes i ever tasted...i still cannot find a jersey beefsteak kind of tomato with as much flavor as his had! perhaps i will have to try heirloom next year...i think it is too late to search, find and start them now...i will have to buy sets from a local grower...i wish i had a heap of that composted pig muck of yours! no pigs around here...just cows, horses and sheep...i will look to getting a truck load this fall, to rot thru the winter...
take it easy still... do alot of watching and enjoying...less doing.:0)

  3. Its pretty easy Patsy. I made baby ones out of plastic trays that you get fruit in from the supermarket - like apples or raspberries (these already have holes in the bottom) - use that for the soil, and then use another for the top. Or if you get plastic transparent lids or mouldings off food or anything - I have used the plastic easter egg mouldings that you get when you buy an easter egg. Anything wiil do.

Denise - there is nothing quite like planting a teeny weeny seed and then nurturing it to grow into something. You of course get failures, but if you sow enough seed you always get winners. And if you are luck you get lots to share too.

Love your home made greenhouses :) Hrm, I should be just as inventive and save the pennies.
